Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information qfamjapan.com collects, why, and the choices you have. “We” means Seth and Jess Quant, missionaries with PAZ International, who run this website. If you have any questions, email us at seth.quant@pazchurch.com.
The short version
- We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use this site. It uses cookies, and you can accept or decline them.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are not tracked unless they choose to accept.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't run ads on this site.
- Donations and newsletter sign-ups are handled by other services, described below.
Google Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to count visits and see which parts of the site are useful. When it's active, it collects:
- the pages you view and how long you stay
- clicks on our “Partner With Us”, “Add Your Support” and blog links
- the website that referred you
- your device type, browser, operating system and screen size
- your approximate location (country and city), estimated from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address.
Google Analytics stores this using two first-party cookies on our domain:

Google Analytics keeps detailed, visit-level data for 2 months, after which it is deleted automatically. We only see summarized reports, such as how many people visited this month. We can't identify you personally from them.
Google signals
We have turned on Google signals, one of Google Analytics' advertising features. If you are signed in to a Google account and have allowed ad personalization in your Google settings, Google may associate your visit with your account. This lets Google give us summarized reports about visitors' age range, interests and use of more than one device. We never see information about individual people, and we don't use this data to show you ads.
You can control how Google uses your information at My Ad Center, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google's own handling of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices
When you first visit, a small notice asks whether you accept analytics cookies. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics stays off until you accept. Everywhere else, it runs unless you decline. You can change your choice here at any time:

Declining also deletes any Google Analytics cookies this site has already set. Your choice is saved in your browser, so if you clear your browser data or use another browser, you will be asked again. You can also block Google Analytics on every website with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Other services this site uses
Hosting
This site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
Fonts
Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. Google says it does not use this to build profiles or target ads.
Videos
Our videos are hosted on YouTube and use its privacy-enhanced mode. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Once a video plays, YouTube may set cookies under the Google Privacy Policy.
Newsletter
The sign-up form at the bottom of our homepage subscribes you to Seth's blog, sethquant.com, which runs on Ghost. Ghost stores your email address on our behalf so we can send you updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can ask us to remove you.
Donations
Donations are made on PAZ International's website and handled under PAZ International's own privacy policy. We never see your payment card or bank details.
If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply and stay in touch. We don't add you to any list without asking.
Sharing and storage
We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services listed above, which process it to run this site. Some of them, including Google and Cloudflare, may store and process data in the United States and other countries.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, or to object to how we use it. This includes rights under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation and Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information. We are happy to help wherever you live. Email seth.quant@pazchurch.com and we'll respond as soon as we can. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where the law requires consent, such as for analytics cookies in Europe, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Otherwise we rely on our legitimate interest in running and securing this website.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this site handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
